A couple of my beautiful orchids are in full-flower at the moment, and the bright colours are very welcome at this time of year.
The lovely colours are a reminder of the spring and summer to come, and are inspiring lots of colourful craft projects…

Happy New Year
Ahhhh, much orchid beauty. Thank you for posting such loveliness. 🙂
Thank you- the garden looks so dull at this time of year so it’s nice to have some colourful plants on the windowsill. Plus there’s the satisfied feeling of not having killed them yet (amazingly orchids seem to like my slightly forgetful plant-watering habits)!

A very wise woman once told me that orchids thrive on neglect. (Not that I’m trying to imply that your horticultural skills are less than attentive!)
I’ll assume that you are actually identifying what a wise woman I am…!
Yup! 🙂 *wonders whether you are in fact my ex-colleague*
I don’t think so… although now that I’m in my mid thirties my memory isn’t what it used to be…
Ha ha. This colleague was in her fifties I suspect, so unless you’ve aged exceptionally badly, I don’t think you’re her. But she’d be very impressed by your orchids.
Lovely, first you suggest I’m cruel to my innocent plants, and now I look ancient before my time…! I’ll take the compliment for keeping my orchids alive though!
Ah such cheerfulness after to rush and grey of Dec/Jan. Thank you for being such an inspiration. The colours are wonderfully energising!
Thank you for another lovely comment! I think I am a bit obsessed with colour, and in particular certain colour combinations, and a bit of brightness at this time of year always helps get me through the end of the winter!
